    In October 2023, the Portuguese Government's “More Housing Program” measures resulted in profound changes to the regime applicable to the granting of residence permits for investment activities. Among others, we inform you that:

    - From October 7, 2023, no new applications for residence permits for investment activities, granted under the Real Estate activity, initially defined, will be accepted.

    However, the following investment activities are still considered permitted under this legislation:

    - National scientific and technological area, constitution of a commercial company with headquarters in national territory, in the promotion of foreign investment in the acquisition of parts of non-real estate collective investment organizations and in the creation of jobs. As well as for the recovery or maintenance of national cultural heritage and artistic production,

    - They cannot, at any time, be used, directly or indirectly, for real estate investment;

    - They will be evaluated every two years regarding their impacts;

    Values:

    - Amount equal to or greater than €250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand euros) or equal to or greater than €500,000.00 (five hundred thousand euros), depending on the activity.
